Hey guys it’s Michelle with Four Seasons of Happiness I am here today we are going to make a swag you can go to www. fourseasonsofhappiness. com and you can find um my blog post about that today um you will also see this blog posted with some pics to go along with it we are going to make a little swag and I am going to show you how I make mine so I have I believe with is a nine foot let me just make sure I am telling you this right this is a oh it does not even say its a garland that you buy at Hobby Lobby basically and its one of those green ones and I don’t use the whole thing I cut it down so I am going to use about thirty inches for this swag and I go to a piece of the garland and I pull all the sides apart so you can see there is wire and I take my snip and I just simply snip it off so we are left with our roughly thirty inches of garland now I am just going to simply bring the garland on here forward so in essence to fluff it cause I am going to use mostly these to tie in my ribbon and my deco mesh on this swag now this swag can be hung up or you can lay it on the table so I am just fluffing fluffing and then I do have pipe cleaners here if I need them depending on where I feel like putting everything and like I have said before that’s the fun part of creating is you wear the shoes you get to decide every swag wreath tree garland whatever you are making is going to be special and different now the ends of these have a little loop so if you are gong to hang it on the door the ends of these already have it now if your going to use the whole garland you are going to cut a centerpiece center section then you have to make your own loop so it can be hung on the door if that’s what they choose to do with it alright so I have it fluffed and I am going to excuse me grab some pipe cleaners just in case and I am using my twenty one by thirty deco mesh cut this open here alright toss this in the garbage off to the side alright so what we are going to do oh there is one more here seems like every package of deco mesh is packaged differently ok so what we are going to do is we are going to do it like my traditional there is another one like my traditional wreath tutorial which you will find on http://freedb2.org/ or you can go to my facebook or my blog www.

fourseasonsofhappiness I have all my tutorials on there as well but we are going to fold it in half and we are going to no we are not what am I doing so we are going to take this and fold it over to form a bunch so bunch it at the end and then fold it over like this and its going to form and end around a rounded off end and you can even go as far as doing that one more time so I am going to sorry bring it back up and I want it about the same length and then you are going to bunch it you can measure it but I usually just use my eyeballs to gauge where I need to do this and my first bunch is kind of big so I normally do tie in a ah pipe cleaner for this first tie so you are just going to start at the top here and your going to pull it as tight as you can with one twist and then I just kind of fluff this deco mesh out so it looks nice and full alright so now we are going to continue on down the swag and I just turn this over and then I am going to keep my ends touching because that’s how I get my nice little poofs and I am going to bunch it and then I am going to twist it on to my my um garland piece that I cut off and then I am going to bunch it again and then again we are going to twist it in the garland one twist usually works fine going on down the swag here again I keep my ends together and then I grab it bunch it if my bunch does not look big enough once you do this a few times you will learn the ins and outs of your deco mesh and it becomes easier to work with this material sometimes it can be a pain but its soo rewarding sooo rewarding ok so I am at the end now so I am going to do that bunch like I did the last at the other end so I am going to put my ends together and I am going to bunch it and then I am going to fold it over and bunch it again so then I have two bunches here and this usually requires a little bit of thinking so on my end we are going back the other way so on this one I am going to flip it around and turn everything inside out like so and bunch it and then bunch it again and like I said getting it about even can be kind of tricky but just work with it it will all come together ok so I am going to grab my pipe cleaner cause this end has double bunch and I am going to twist tie this in with my pipe cleaner and like I said pull it as tight as you can get it and one twist for now and then you are just going to work with end to poof it out like the other end and then I just snip this off like so so this is our start to our swag this end was a little bit larger then this end so I just accomidate it because I don’t measure I know that sounds terrible but I use my nice young eyes to gauge and that is the fun part of diy is what ever looks good ok so that is our start to our swag and now I am going to take some ribbon and this is the two inch I believe there are so many different lengths I am just going to measure it for you two and a half inch and we are going to make a loop and we are going to say this is I leave a little bit of a tail and then I will measure we will say twelve so at twelve which is there and then I just loop it over like this and I pinch it ok and I like to once I get it pinched I like to twist that ribbon so my tail comes down and then I am going to snip this I am going to go about the same length and then I am going to do the same thing leave my tail so there measure twelve so there then turn my ribbon and tie it in and then I ill alternate cause I will take my scissor and go through and angle these off oh my siccors are dull and angle those off so they look pretty ok and I just pull these off to the sides a little bit and then I am going to do it with this other one and I just use my previous ribbon twelve is right there and pinch it turn my ribbon and tie it in last one tie it in and it like I said in the other blogs its fun to experiment and play around with the ribbon um colors and patterns and textures it all adds depth and character to your piece whether its a wreath or swag or a garland so that’s our first ribbon and this one is going to look better as a swag because it is all kind of hanging down alright my second ribbon that I am going to do is I am going to do the same thing but I am not going to cut this one off so I am going to measure this I think I am going to go ten this time because I want it a little bit smaller but I want to leave a little bit of a tail so my bad I think I am going to go a little bit longer on this tail so we will go ten right here ok same thing I am going to make my loop and then I am going to twist my ribbon and then I am going to tie it in so with this one I am going to tie it in and then I am going to make my loop ok then I am going to twist it again and this one I am going to need more pipe cleaners but I don’t need a full pipe cleaner so I am going to multi task here and I am going to cut this in half and what you do is you just twist that pipe cleaner into that existing tie like such so I still have some left for my further twists if that makes sense and then I fluff that ribbon ok then I go down to the next one and I am assuming I am going to need a pipe cleaner for every tie so I am just going to go ahead and tie this one in actually I can get one more here so next tie I am just going to not cut it this time loop it down tie it in and then I am going to tie this pipe cleaner in to the existing tie this just gives you an extension to work with basically ok now I am going to do my ten and I am going to make my loop and twist that in ok and this one already has a tie because it is the end so I don’t have to add anything to this one so I am going to remember tie it in get my loop and I measure my loops just because um it helps that part to stay consistent where as it comes to the deco mesh wreaths its important to measure it out just because you want your wreath to be even and symmetrical and what not but these ones your eye is fine alright so now I am just going to cut that off and you can leave a tail you can a long tail you can leave a short tail ok alright so next I am going to use this shorter ribbon and I am going to do like little sprigs like little so I am just going to cut I am going to cut we are going to go twelve we are going to go roughly twelve on these littler ribbons alright so what I am going to do is I am going to tie in a different kind of ribbon so I am going to do one of each for each one and I just use my existing cut ribbon to measure alright and I want to cut these at an angle ok alright so what I am going to do is I am going to tie them in like I would a wreath one that way and one this way and fluff them its going to be like that every tie so two ribbon sequence here and just fluff all the ribbon up the loops you made previously and the ribbons your flairing out now so we need two more of these and I am just cutting the angles on these like previous you just fold them in half and cut them toward the wire fold them in half and cut up toward the wire to give the triangle effect tie these in fluff your ribbons alright all right that is looking pretty darn good so now I am just going to make sure all my ribbons are where I want them and how they look the best I might end up cutting this actually we are just going to tuck it underneath this one the tail on this first one ok alright so now we are just going to add some decorations and I have a couple different options here on what I thought I could put in here and like these ones have a tail on them so you could just uh twist tie them into this um pipe cleaner I couldn’t think of the word and I am going to twist it this way because I am going to sell this as a swag and not a table runner I think its going to be a really cute door swag so you just twist it on and then tuck it in and then I am just going to cut the tail off of this and if you are nervous about it not sticking you can just add a little dollop of hot glue to the pipe cleaner and the decoration itself and that will help adhere it to that so you don’t have to worry about that moving and then I have you know a ball here and you can just play around with what you have to see whatever looks the best so I think I will put this one down here and maybe we will just do two red balls down the middle I think that looks that looks good so this one I am just going to twist in because if you twist it down its going to be hanging up and you can see it will just fall down into it and then a dollop of glue is what I do and then I just take my stem and I pull it down through the pipe cleaner and that helps it to adhere and then you can just tuck your pipe cleaner up and under all of your ribbon and trim the tail end of this decoration off and for these we don’t have a loop you could loop it through here like this and twist it on I guess we will just do that um but I have always just hot glued it in if they don’t have the little decorative piece at the end where you usually put your metal piece for your Christmas tree then just put a dollop of glue you can refer back to my other blogs too but just put a dollop of glue on the end because I never know when the ends are going to come off and then stick it in to the core of the ribbon bunch and I am just going to put a dollop of glue on this because it scares me because I don’t want that bulb to come off of that piece that I am twisting on to and then you just tuck that in and I will show you what it looks like this is an alternative to a wreath is what it is um later this week we are going to make one with lights so more of a garland and so tune in to Four Seasons of Happiness ah . com to see the blog post on this to see the tutorial pictures and later on this week we are going to do a garland with Christmas lights also follow me on >> Hi giugizers and welcome back my Christmas serie keeps going, we reached the 6th instalmemnt we’re almost at the end of the first week and I really hope you liked the projects I shared until now but let’s get to today’s website I love decorating my house for Christmas that’s why every year I look for new ideas to add some new DIY little things This year I thought I’d make a fur letters decor like this one You can choose the word you prefer, I went for a short one to make the project easier but you can chose whatever you like, moreover by changing the fur color you could use this project as a DIY gift for example you could spell the name of the person you wish to gift it and it would turn into a cute gift idea, perfect for the kids room too. If you like this idea too keep reading my tutorial and here is what you’ll need for this project some white fake fur, some hot glue, some wooden or cardstock letters, a pen, and scissors Let’s start with the fake fur that you can buy in craftstores or online got mine on Amazon Let’s lay it on the worktop and using a pen let’s trace the outline of the first letter, like so. Then let’s cut out the shape.

Perfect, now let’s trace the other side of the letter too and let’s cut it out We’ll need these cut outs to cover the letters Now let’s hot glue the fur on one side of the wooden letter Let’s trim off the exceeding fur and let’s cover the other side too and let’s trim off the exceeding bits once again. To cover the side let’s cut a stripe of fur in the right width and let’s hot glue it on the letter Et voilà, the first letter is done now we just need to do the same on all the other letters making sure we trace both sides of every letter Brilliant, now we just need to glue the letters together to spell the choosen word that’s it! Here is the furry decor ready to add a special chrismassy touch in our houses I remind you that on my blog you’ll find more pictures of the finished project together with the supplies list with links to buy them online in case you couldn’t find them in the stores near you and the link to my blogpost is in the downbar as usual If you liked this website please give it a thumbs up so that I’ll know share it, talk about it with your friends, favourite it and if you haven’t yet bookmark in order not to miss any of the other Christmas themed projects. That’s it for today, I send you a big kiss and I’ll see you tomorrow with a new 21 days Christmas website, ciao!.

Thanks

Hey it’s Abby and I realized that Christmas just ended but I already want to start talking about decorating for next year. I know that sounds a little crazy but here’s what I mean. The more organized I am about putting my Christmas decorations away and storing them neatly the easier it will be next year when I go to get all of them out and want to decorate my house again.

So I try to be really intentional about getting organized now and I will thank myself later. So today I’m excited to talk about organizing our Christmas storage bins but before I get started make sure you share so you don’t miss any organization inspiration and head to abbyorganizes. com/bonus to get our free bonus for our newsletter sharers. Step 1 Gather all of the holiday decor in one spot. I like to start by collecting all of my Christmas stuff from around the house and putting it in one spot. I empty all of my bins so I can easily see everything that I have. I always think it’s nice to start with a blank slate. It’s easier to see what I’m working with, nothing gets missed, and I can easily evaluate which storage bins will work best for certain items. The downside is that my house looks like a bomb went off. Step Two. Declutter. I get rid of everything I haven’t used or don’t love. I love this part. After everything has been set out, I start weeding out the things that are broken, have missing pieces, are out-of-date or haven’t been used in a while and I either throw those things away or I put them in donate or sell piles. It’s a waste of space to store things that I’m never going to use again. Step 3. Sort items by type. Once all of my junk is out of the way, I arrange everything I have left into groups putting the like items together. This time I’m doing my Christmas bins so I put all my ornaments in one section of the room, all the nativity sets in another spot, all the stockings in a separate pile, all the greenery in a different pile, all the ribbon, etc. Step 4. Match items with appropriate bins. Once my items are grouped by type it’s easy to tell what size bin I will need for each one. I have all of my outdoor decor together in two bins, my mini trees are all together in one bin, all of my pillows are together in one bin, etc. Ornaments I sort the shatter-resistant ornaments by color and put all of the metallic ornaments in one tub, all of the red ornaments in another tub. Just make sure you only do this with the plastic ones. Glass ones will break if you try to store them this way. For my really fragile glass ornaments, I have little divided bins so each ornament can have its own slot. These bins are great but they can get pricey so I only use them for my really nice, really fragile ornaments. I just use shoeboxes to store our family ornaments within a larger bin. This lets me keep ornaments separated by type and it’s free. Step 5. Label. As I’m putting everything in the bins, I have my cute labels all printed out so I can make notes about what is in each bin. You can download these printable labels for free over on my blog and I will leave the link for them in the description below. When I’m writing down the bin’s contents, I try to be as detailed as possible so I can easily find everything next year. Once I have everything written down, I run the sheet through my laminator to make it a little more sturdy, cut out the labels, and adhere them to my bins with packing tape. So now that everything is neat and organized and ready to go back into storage, I will be thanking myself next year because it will be so easy to find exactly what I need and all the bins are labeled so when I take the items out again to decorate, I’ll know exactly where to put them back. Do you have any tips for keeping the storage bins neat and organized? I would love to hear them in the comments below!.

Thanks

COF OF ♪ Trini: WELCOME BACK TO “LIVING 808. ” I DON’T KNOW YOU BUT I HAVE TREE ENVY WHEN I WALK INTO A DEPARTMENT STORE OR SOMEONE’S HOME WHEN I SEE THEIR BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED CHRISTMAS TREE. WHEN THE KIDS AND I DO OUR TREE, IT NEVER LOOKS LIKE THAT.

IF YOU’RE LIKE ME AND NEED HELP, THIS IS YOUR LUCKY DAY. ALVIN AND LEWIS ARE HERE ON HOW TO DECORATE A TREE. THANK YOU FOR JOINING US. I’M VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS SEGMENT. THIS IS SOMETHING I STRUGGLE WITH EVERY YEAR. I’S FA FANTASIZE ABOUT THAT PERFECT TREE AND IT NEVER TURNS OUT THE WAY I WANT. THE TREE IS VERY MUCH A SUFFOLK — FOCAL POINT. WHAT ARE SOME TIPS? WHERE SHOULD YOU START? FIRST THING YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT IS COLOR THEME. IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING SPECIAL. LIKE FISH OR SEA ORNAMENTS OR IF YOU WANT TO DO COLOR LIKE GOLDS OR PURPLES OR REDS. THAT’S WHERE YOU’RE GOING TO START. TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW YOU’RE GOING TO DECORATE YOUR TREE. Trini: TRY TO FIND A THEME OR COLOR OR ANY KIND OF THEME. ALL RIGHT. ONCE YOU HAVE A THEME, THEN WHAT? WHAT I WOULD START OFF WITH WOULD BE THE LIGHTS. Trini: OKAY. AND THEN IF YOU HAVE GARLAND OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF THING THAT WILL COVER YOUR TREE — Trini: RIBBON. BOWS. AND WORKING WITH YOUR FILLER ORNAMENTS LATER. AND YOUR FOCAL ORNAMENTS LAST. THAT WOULD BE YOUR NICER ORNAMENTS THAT YOU WANTED TO DISPLAY. THAT WOULD BE THE LAST THING YOU PUT ON SO IT WILL BE A FOCAL. Trini: LIGHTS FIRST AND RIBBON. I DON’T KNOW IF WE HAVE RIBBONS TODAY BUT I STRUGGLE WITH PUTTING THE RIG — RIBBON OF THE DO YOU HAVE TIPS? YOU CAN KENT THE RIBBON — CONNECT THE RIBBON. Trini: YOU CAN GO AHEAD AND START.
